For spring and summer 2009 standout eyes were a key trend on the runway. Virtually every show at New York Fashion week featured false eyelashes that added a sense of ethereal drama to the spring '09 makeup trends.

Jewel Tones

Jewel tones are making a dramatic statement this summer, choose an eye shadow that compliments your skin tone, whether it is peacock blue or a saturated amethyst. Our model has beautiful dark skin and brown eyes that were screaming for a dark lavender shadow. We used a foundation layer of Girlie Girl lashes and added Play Thing as a second layer to the outer half of the eyes finishing with a thin layer of black eyeliner on the lid and bottom lash line.

Playing up your natural beauty is always a trend to follow. Our model wore very feminine, neutral makeup that accented her blue eyes and false lashes made her eyes stand out for a softer doe-eyed effect. Cat Eyes

The spirit of the 60's is in full swing this summer with black-rimmed cat eyes for a sexy, Brigitte Bardot look.
